Hilarious SinderFella Adult Panto to 30 Dec

SinderFella is the hilarious and entertaining adult pantomime with all of our favourite Durban drag artists in top gear this year.

Durban View Guesthouse made up a table of 10 and we all laughed so much, it really was a fun evening and one of the best of the adult pantos which see their 16th year in Durban over the festive season.

Tickets are R150 and can be booked through the link here. Be sure not to miss out on Anthony Stonier and Thomie Holthausen's best show ever.

Guests Bertus, Hennie, Ralph, Andre, Stefan and Freddie at SunCoast before the show

Married on the 1st December

1 December, 10 years anniversary, 100 years combined age, we were married today in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand - Dave and Llewellyn, owners of Durban View Guesthouse.

What an awesome day and special memories as we traveled so far to tie the knot in terms of the New Zealand legislation as well as a marriage in terms of our own South African Civil Union Act, 2006 in this beautiful spot at Paihia in the Bay of Islands, North island, New Zealand.

The seagulls are chasing the rose petals we threw into the water, them hoping they were something tasty to eat... Dave and Llewellyn

Michael, the New Zealand Marriage Celebrant officiated at the ceremony

The deed is done and we are married on the rocks as the tide came in - hopefully the marriage will not be "on the rocks". The colour of the jeans are "coral" for those inquisitive.

Our kids and family were with us in spirit and remembered on the beach

We opened some local New Zealand bubbly to celebrate

After changing we took the ferry across to the other side of the mainland to the town of Russell for some time on the beach and lunch

On the Russell pier

The beach at Russell.. the sky was partly cloudy and the water was freezing, but we braved it on our wedding day

Catching bits of sunshine

After catching the ferry back we took a drive to the nearby Haruru Falls

This was 8.30pm walking to the fabulous restaurant we found the day before and to have dinner on our wedding night

The beef steak was fantastic.. just the NZ prices had us reeling in anguish - 3 times the prices of home

Wedding night dinner at Alfresco's, Paihia, Bay of Islands.. the end to a perfect day!

HOT Durban Skyye

My gym guru buddy Chris had some fun in the Durban Skyye with me this week as I showed him the difference between asphalt landings and grass landings in Llew and my Sling aircraft ZDL. Afterwards we fooled around looking at some "permanent" body wings...

Chris and I over Durban in ZDL - Dave runs a Flight School in Durban in his spare time and recently qualified as a National Flight Instructor - http://www.durbanskyye.co.za

Fun in Durban

We enjoyed a fantastic evening out with our guest Ulf (left) from Sweden, seen here with guesthouse co-owner and my partner Llewellyn at one of Durban's top restaurants. Ulf still could not believe how you can have an incredible meal for a fraction of the price it would cost in Europe... the delicious steak with veg and mushroom/pepper sauce at Durban's TripAdvisor # 2 restaurant was about 8 Euro.

Ulf also wanted to see Durban from a bird's point of view, so he took to the Durban Skyye in a microlight, flying along the scenic Durban beachfront the the Harbour and back to the lighthouse..

Best Esibein!!

Our mate Lee's birthday was an opportunity to get together and drive up the north coast to Salt Rock for one of the best eisbeins I have had.. very yummy and great company. Happy Birthday Lee!!

Getting some airtime..

Guest Travs takes to the air with pilot Dave, co-owner of the Guesthouse in his Sling aircraft along the Durban beachfront. Definitely the best way to see Durban. Dave is also the co-owner of Durban Skyye Flight School which offers microlight and fixed wing flights from Virginia Airport, down the road from the guesthouse.

Beerfest in Durban

Durban was making a huge effort to emulate the Munich Bierfest this weekend with a huge drinking marquee Llew and myself attended with guests, friends and family this weekend.
