Gay Wedding at the guesthouse

Congratulations to Paul and Neil who got married at the Guesthouse yesterday. What a beautiful ceremony on the rooftop at the sun was setting over the city as they said their commitments to each other. Arriving in Durban from Newcastle in the UK on Wednesday it was a whirlwind few days and we were delighted to be part of the service. Paul and Neil have already been together for 14 years and felt that it was time to get married and come somewhere exciting for the ceremony and honeymoon.

Check it out and once signed, the contract can be returned to us from anywhere in South Africa and we will register the contract in the Deeds Office closest to you. Guests get married

Meet our guests Kobus (left) and Carl who got married last week. Congratulations guys, every day we are meeting more guys who have taken the plunge since the 2006 Civil Union Act legalised marriages and civil partnerships.

Don't forget also that guesthouse co-owner, Dave, is a notary Public, so if you are thinking of hitching up, be sure to ask Dave to register your pre-nuptial /ANC or Civil Partnership agreement before you get married or register the union.

Civil Union Act

In studying for his Notary's exam Dave has been scrutinising the Civil Union Act of 2006 which permits gay marriage or civil partnerships in South Africa. Dave runs his own legal practice and offers gay antenuptial marriage contracts and co-habitation agreements... and is anticipating such a contract possibly coming up in his Notary's exam he writes tomorrow.

Getting married in the morning..

Congratulations to Craig (2nd left) and Robert (3rd left) from South Africa but who are now living and working in London and are getting married in the morning!!! They both came to Durban for a visit and to see family and will be getting married in Johanneburg on Friday before returning to London after sorting out visa renewals for Craig. Thank you for sharing some time with us (Dave far left, and Llewellyn right) at the Guesthouse - we both wish you everything of the best for your future together.

First Gay Wedding

The first gay marriage at our Guesthouse took place this weekend. Suzette (left above) and Belinda tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony presided over by Senior Pastor Deborah Bell of the Deo Gloria Family Church, one of the few mariage officers appointed in the country to marry gay couples.
